Prevent Child Abuse Porter County is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to serving as a catalyst, for preventing child abuse and neglect in all forms.

Projects and Programs

The projects and programs we sponsor include:

  • Co-sponsor for The Little Bear program designed to teach awareness of child abuse to all children in the Porter County school systems.
  • Host/Sponsor seminars featuring nationally recognized experts.
  • Created a Speakers Bureau to provide preventative presentations, such as "Shaken Baby Syndrome."
  • Host of an annual memorial display of Indiana children lost through abuse or neglect.
  • Provide scholarships for local law enforcement and legal personnel to attend nationally recognized "Finding Words" program.
  • Sponsor for "Project Safe Kids" - a locally developed and highly successful child identification program.
  • Host an annual fundraising event to financially support our cause.
  • Sponsor of the "Blue Ribbon Campaign," in conjunction with the "National Child Abuse Awareness Month," each April - our blue ribbon represents the color of a child's bruise.
  • Public Policy Collaborating with local and state lawmakers to ensure significant legislature to protect our children and their rights.
  • Public relations team creating awareness through positive exposure of articles, advertisements and various publicity campaigns, such as participation in local health and safety fairs.
